The city of Southend has been, since the 18th
century, a place of entertainment and
leisure. Times change and new things develop but the sea, the pier and the fun are always
there.
It remains a landscape of pleasure... The Landscape of Pleasure
is a
short film and photographic series that looks at the
town of Southend
as a landscape designed for pleasure and
entertainment.
The Landscape of Pleasure was screened at the Popup Cinema
in the
city centre, and at the seafront Park Inn in Southend-on-Sea
during the Artside
Festival of Contemporary Art, July 2011.
